Intensive Supports Manager

About the Role:

The Manager of Intensive Supports is a pivotal role in providing support for some of the most intensive individuals with Developmental Disabilities. This position is responsible for planning, management, administration, and oversight of supports for individuals with complex needs. This includes but is not limited to all supervised living, staffed living, intensive supports, and oversight of individuals on ACT 248. This position provides supervision and ongoing support to the direct reports.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Planning, development, and management of services for individuals and oversight of supports for individuals served through, supervised living, staffed living, intensive support, and individuals on ACT 248.
  • Develop strategies for the Intensive Support Program are consistent with strategies and goals of DS Program. 
  • Assures and coordinates that all individuals served within this program have appropriate staff coverage and develops staff schedules. 
  • Provides training to support specialists in implementing programs that is Person Centered and works towards enhancing independent living. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that documentation is completed timely, per DAIL and Medicaid guidelines. 
  • Maintains relationships/familiarity with individuals supported.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with families, guardians, community, and state partners.
  • On-call within in a rotation for 24/7 crisis management support. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4 years minimum experience in developmental disabilities services preferred. 
  • Eligible for Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) status.
  • Previous leadership or management experience required.
  • Strong leadership skills (i.e. accountability, follow through, coaching techniques, constructive feedback, multitasking…etc.).
  • Proficiency with computers, experience entering data into electronic medical records (EMR) program.
  • Ability to work with others in a positive, responsible manner.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills in order to receive and convey information in efficient and effective manner.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to respond in emergency situations appropriately.
  • Commitment to person centered services, community inclusion and individual choice.
  • Able to flex schedule as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
