Kitchen Supervisor/Lead Cook

Community Care Network is looking for a Kitchen Supervisor/Lead Cook to join our team!

About the Role:

The position's primary responsibility is to oversee nutrition preparation, menu planning, ordering, accounting, and record keeping for meeting HSPPS nutrition and Child and Family Food Program requirements under the supervision of the Health Manager. The Kitchen Supervisor-Lead Cook also makes daily deliveries of prepared foods using their personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) to offsite locations in the Rutland area. The Kitchen Supervisor - Lead Cook may also perform light custodial duties at the Meadow Street building in the temporary absence of the contracted cleaner, such as bathrooms and hallways.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily preparation of food for breakfast, lunch and snack in accordance with the standardized menu and individual child food requirements.
  • Assist to maintain the kitchen in a sanitary and safe condition.
  • Deliver meals to offsite locations(s) using personal vehicle.
  • Lead for tracking and ordering items specific for Early Head Start program.
  • Train new Nutrition Staff and ensure that kitchen standards for sanitation and food safety are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • At least 3 years of experience required as a cook in an early childhood program.
  • First Aid and Infant/Child CPR.
  • Reliable personal transportation which can be used to transport meals.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
