Per Diem Behavioral Services Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Services Coordinator has primary responsibility to coordinate special education, behavioral, and mental health services to support the content area managers. This position integrates child and family information and manages systems to ensure that children's needs are met. This position also supports communication systems between families, schools, providers, mental health, and special education. As a member of the Rutland County Head Start Coordinated Services team, the Behavioral Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance, developing program capacity, and building program excellence. This position reports to the Head Start Director. This position is a per diem position up to 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred: minimum of a bachelor's degree in special education, disabilities, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language pathology, child development, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience working with special needs or young children with special needs and their families. Experience must include at least one (1) year of administrative or management experience which includes program planning, organizing, and staff training and supervision.
  • Certifications in CPR/ First Aid
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
