Respite Worker - Early Childhood Services

"Respite" offers support, structure and therapeutic activities to children and families with complex mental health needs.  Services are intended to help maintain family stability and to enhance mental health by giving the child and family a much needed break.  

In this position you work 1:1 with a child in the community or office setting.  You have the flexibility to initiate constructive activities that build on their strengths and introduce them to rewarding activities.  Respite relationships can span 6 months to a year.  This position requires use of a personal vehicle.  Candidates must be comfortable providing a high level of supervision, establishing firm boundaries and setting limits on behavior.  Also, they must be willing to receive comprehensive training in community mental health and comply with annual RMHS trainings.  Required hours are late afternoon and weekends.
