Summer Camp Teachers
Rutland County Head Start is hiring summer camp teachers for 8-week positions June to August. The lead teacher will develop a fun, summer curriculum for children in our preschool program. It is the same high-quality classrooms but focused on summer fun! We are seeking two experienced teachers, each to lead a classroom for the summer camp classes 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with two hours prep time at the end of every day. You will receive support and guidance in developing your classroom lesson plans and learning activities. You will work with two assistants in each classroom with 15 children maximum. You will work at our Meadow Street Head Start Center in Rutland City. This is a short-term position, and the salary is $22-$25 per hour depending on education and credentials. There are no benefits, but you may apply for a longer-term position starting in Fall 2024. Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.

A teacher is at least twenty (20) years of age and meets one of the following qualifications:

A teacher associate is at least twenty (20) years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED, and meets one (1) of the following qualifications:
Head Start is a federally-funded, national child and family development program which provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement, and include parent leadership and social service supports.
