About the Role:

The Employment Supports Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality supported employment services through effective leadership, supervision, and a commitment to excellence. This role involves guiding and mentoring, addressing staffing concerns, and overseeing the hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members. The Supervisor is instrumental in fostering a positive, team-oriented culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

By providing coaching and support, the Supervisor ensures that services are person-centered and aligned with individuals’ unique goals and aspirations. They also uphold quality compliance by monitoring performance, maintaining documentation standards, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Through strong leadership and a focus on continuous improvement, the Employment Supports Supervisor drives the success of the team and the meaningful outcomes achieved for the individuals supported.

Responsibilities:

  • Training and Staff Development
    • Deliver field training on documentation, direct support, and service delivery.
    • Provide ongoing, actionable feedback to improve staff performance.
    • Conduct weekly one-on-one supervision to assigned staff to review progress and address concerns.
    • Manage onboarding, including hiring and coordinating on-site training with the Manager.
    • Ensure staff complete all required training and stay compliant with regulations.
  • Scheduling and Workforce Management
    • Ensure adequate staff coverage to meet individual service needs.
    • Post monthly schedules, adjusting for call-ins and emergencies.
    • Communicate schedule changes promptly to staff and stakeholders.
    • Align staffing levels with service needs and recruitment efforts.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Monitor electronic medical records (EMR) to verify service logs within 48 hours.
    • Maintain accurate records of staff activities, including timesheets and case notes.
    • Document interactions, concerns, and visits in EMR for accountability.
    • Promptly review and address incident reports with necessary follow-ups.
  • Person-Centered Service Delivery
    • Ensure staff uphold individual preferences outlined in ISAs and support plans.
    • Stay informed about individuals’ unique needs and goals to ensure quality care.
    • Provide guidance to staff on event and critical incident reports.
  • Leadership and Team Building
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and professional team environment.
    • Promote proactive, transparent leadership aligned with core values.
    • Lead by example to inspire high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Share best practices to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Operational and Crisis Management
    • Participate in the on-call rotation to manage crises and emergencies.
    • Ensure safety and effective follow-ups for all crisis incidents.
    • Coordinate with the Manager to address staffing and operational challenges.
  • Performance Management and Accountability
    • Regularly evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
    • Address disciplinary issues promptly, following organizational standards.
    • Complete evaluations and other supervisory responsibilities on time.
  • Professional Development and Continuous Improvement
    • Stay current with industry best practices and share knowledge with the team.
    • Encourage staff participation in development opportunities and provide resources.
    • Promote continuous learning to maintain high standards of care.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform additional tasks as needed to support organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in developmental services preferred.
  • Previous leadership or management experience required.
  • Strong leadership skills (i.e. accountability, follow through, coaching techniques, constructive feedback, multitasking…etc.).
  • Dedicated to setting goals and follow through with vision and plans.
  • Proficiency with computers, experience entering data into electronic medical records (EMR) program.
  • Ability to work with others in a positive, responsible manner.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills in order to receive and convey information in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to community inclusion and individual choice.
  • Able to flex schedule as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
