The Behavior Support Specialist will work with both individual and groups of children to support skill development in social and emotional development in the classroom environment. This is accomplished through the promotion of universal practices, targeted social-emotional supports, and intensive, individualized interventions. The BSS will work Rutland Mental Health Early Childhood Mental Health Team to support the continuity of coordinated care for children and families.
The Behavior Support Specialist aligns guidance with the teaching practices identified through the Pyramid Model, Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) for preschool classrooms, Second Step and Devereux Early Childhood Assessment-Social and Emotional (DECA).
BSS will develop, with a coordinated team, and oversee Positive Behavior Support Plans for identified children.
Requirements: Associate's degree in human services or psychology, or related field- social work, and 2 years experience working with children 3-5, developing behavior support plans. Bachelor's degree preferred.CCN is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
