Director of Senior Volunteer Programs

Community Care Network is searching for a Director of Senior Volunteer Programs to join our team!

About the Role:

The Director oversees senior volunteer programs for Rutland Community Programs: RSVP and The Volunteer Center, One-2-One, and Green Mountain Foster Grandparents. Rutland Community Programs is a not-for-profit organization operating under the Community Care Network umbrella. The Director oversees a small team of program coordinators and is responsible for assuring that operational mandates and standards for excellence are met in the primarily grant-funded programs. Overall operating responsibility for fiscal and regulatory compliance, and ensuring the programs are strategically positioned for the future.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor and maintain program plans, policies, procedures, budgets, contracts, agreements, grants, fiscal and information tracking systems, and participate in evaluation activities.
  • Supervise program coordinators and other positions as assigned. Perform annual performance evaluations of staff.
  • Manage fiscal operations in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer, including budget development, management and monitoring.
  • Identify growth and expansion opportunities to advance the mission of the senior volunteer programs.
  • Develop and execute communications, public relations, and marketing efforts to promote the programs, educate stakeholders and community members, and recruit volunteers.
  • Participate in local, regional and state associations for older adult programming.


  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years in a program leadership role. Preferred experience in volunteer management. 
  • Experience in program development, including service delivery, financial management, fundraising and grant-writing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont. The home office is in Rutland, Vermont and occasional travel to the Middlebury, Vermont office is required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
