Substance Use Disorder Clinician - Bennington, VT

General Summary: 

The Substance Abuse Clinician is responsible for the provision of clinical services to client as assigned and to conduct these services in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards.  The services provided with assist in meeting the overall mental health and substance abuse service goals of Rutland Mental Health, Inc.  The clinician will develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external professional staff to provide coordinated, quality services.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation, treatment, consultation, community education and training activities.
    • Facilitate specialty groups as required by Supervisor.
    • Conduct Assessments.
  • Timely completion of clinical documentation per agency policy to include treatment plan document, clinical contact notes, time sheets, managed care  authorizations, discharge summary and all others as needed.
  • Will achieve established utilization management/desired client outcomes for cases assigned.
  • Will accept cases as assigned by supervisor.
  • Will attend clinical supervision, departmental meetings and trainings as directed by supervisor.
  • Will accept and complete additional relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Will practice and present in a manner consistent with Quality Improvement goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

General knowledge of community resources, including 12-step methodology, an ability to work effectively and therapeutically with substance abusing clients and a willingness to participate in supervisory and training process.

Licenses/Certification, Qualifications Required:

Master's Degree required.

Licensure as a LCMHC or LADC preferred, not required.
