Developmental Services Assistant Director

Community Care Network is looking for an Assistant Director of Developmental Services to join our team in Rutland, Vermont!

About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Developmental Services is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Developmental Services program. The Assistant provides direction, supervision, coaching, and direction in critical thinking and problem solving to DS Leadership. The Assistant Director oversees the quality and compliance of programming and field work. In addition, the Assistant Director provides leadership to the Developmental Services team emphasizing staff's quality of life and job satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct administrative and clinical supervision to all assigned program staff.
  • Provide and/or ensure that all program staff meet identified training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with State of Vermont licensing, rostering, and quality expectations.
  • Provide leadership for all program staff and serve as a model through daily staff interactions, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure adequate staffing through recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Work closely with Human Resources on hiring practices and employee related issues.
  • Provide training, supervision, and oversight of internal compliance standards based on audits, reports, performance indicators, and data trends.
  • Oversee process improvement activities based on audits, quality service reports, and data analysis of trends.
  • Participate in community relations, education, and development activities to drive and maintain census.
  • Interface with the Department of Aging and Independent Living on clinical and administrative matters affecting services, supports, and quality topics.
  • Provide expert oversight of all financial aspects of Developmental Services ensuring zero lost revenue (i.e. local and state funding, HCBS budgets, eligibility and guardian approval).
  • Partner with Director to ensure coverage plans for planned and unplanned vacancies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP).
  • Previous experience in development disabilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, experience entering data into electronic medical records (EMR) program.
  • Ability to work with others in a positive, responsible manner.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills in order to receive and convey information in efficient and effective manner. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility, dependability, and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to community inclusion and individual choice.
  • Able to flex schedule as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
